For a very special person...

I found this great recipe box to alter at Michael's.  I painted the inside of the box with white paint.  I covered the outside of the box with paper.  I use Mod Podge to glue the paper to the box as well as seal it after the paper was put on.  I added some Thickers to the front of the box with the recipient's name.

This is the inside of the box.  I added a quote and some self sticking ribbon to the inside.

The box was used to collect messages for the person retiring.  People were given 4 x 6 index cards to write a note.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

I am always in need of Thank You cards.  Here is my latest creation.  I wanted a thank you card that was appropriate for a man or woman.  I used two designer papers and three solid colors to create this simple layered card.

Welcome Baby

I decided to make some baby cards.  I found this idea on Pinterest.  I used two circle punches to make the baby bib.  I add ribbon to the bib.  The white background was embossed.  I added a duck button next to the sentiment to finish off this card.

Congrats to the Bride to Be!

I found the cutest bridal shower card idea on Pinterest.  The dresses are made out of 4" doilies.  I used Stampin' Up Bashful Blue for the top photo and Perfect Plum for the bottom one.  Here is where I found the wonderful tutorial.  The color possibilities are endless.

Argyle Cards - Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Night of Navy

I am still working on taking photos of all of the Argyle card sets I cut out last summer.  They are all put together so hopefully I will get pictures done.  I used the Cricut and cut out about 20 different color combinations to put together and have on hand as gifts or for notes.

This set was made using Stampin' Up colors Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Night of Navy.

Thinking of You

Well I finally took some time to make a few cards last weekend.  I have really struggled to get crafty lately with the demands of work and life in general.  I am making some cards for a silent action in May that will benefit the PTA at the school I work for.  Here are two of the cards.

I used some pretty glittered DCWV paper I had on hand.  I cut the paper to 4 x 5 1/4.  Long ways I cut each strip to be 1 1/4" long.  I left a cut out of 1/8" of the paper where the space is.  I then embossed a message on vellum and added some pearls.  I saw this pretty layout on Pinterest a few weeks ago and wanted to give it a try.

For the happy couple

Some friends celebrated their engagement today with their shower.  They are huge New York Yankees fans.  I decided to make a special card for them.  I used the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge to cut out the people and accessories.  I made the background of the card to appear like they were in the stadium near the jumbo tron.  Of course the card wouldn't be complete without some stadium lights and stands full of people.

A Special Happy Birthday!

I have a fun card to share with you today.  My sister's birthday was yesterday.  I didn't want to post my creation until she received the card.  Here is the front of the card.  It features the image "Stella eat more cake," from Bugaboo Stamps.

Here is the inside of my card.  Here are the  card directions if you are interested in trying one for yourself.  The inside of my card features the image "Stella alternative" and the sentiment that accompanies the image on the front of the card.  I colored the images using ProMarkers.  I used some coordinating Stampin' Up paper for both the front and inside of the card.  I added some self stick ribbon and bling to finish off the card.

Are you inspired by these colors?

This week the challenge is a color inspiration challenge.  Here is a picture of your inspiration for this week.  We hope you join us at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog for our Color Inspiration Challenge.

I chose the image "Happy Valentines to Ewe" for my card this week.  This great image was colored using ProMarkers.  I made a special fold card this time.  This card is a Teepee Card.  This card is a free standing card when the Velcro is attached.  I added lots of small prima flowers and white pearls to the centers of the flowers.  The sentiment is a digital sentiment.

This is the card when it is flat.
